SAFI-NUFAWSA Employment Portal

This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to supporting job seekers within the furniture industry and addressing unemployment challenges. Through this initiative, NUFAWSA members will gain exclusive access to a specialised platform designed to showcase their skills and connect them with relevant employment opportunities.

With the SAFI-NUFAWSA employment portal, job seekers can conveniently list their resumes, enhancing their visibility to potential employers within the industry. This dedicated platform will provide NUFAWSA members with valuable resources and tools to streamline their job search process, empowering them to pursue meaningful employment opportunities and contribute to the growth of the furniture sector. Together, SAFI and NUFAWSA are dedicated to creating impactful solutions that address unemployment and foster economic empowerment within our communities.

The National Union of Furniture and Allied Workers Union (NUFAWSA) will screen every posting or application, prior to them being activated on the Employment Portal, to ensure compliance with the above rules.

Have you previously worked in the furniture manufacturing industry?

A person (the job applicant) may not use the Employment Portal to post their particulars or to apply for a job if the job applicant has been employed by a furniture manufacturer, that is registered with a Bargaining Council, within the previous six months and has not been retrenched.

The following categories of people (job applicants) are eligible to post their particulars or apply for a job via the SAFI Employment Portal:

  • Job applicants who, immediately prior to the posting of their particulars or application for a job, have been working for a furniture manufacturer, that is registered with a Bargaining Council, if the applicant was retrenched by that manufacturer.
  • Job applicants who have been working for a furniture manufacturer, that is registered with a Bargaining Council, more than six months prior to the posting of their particulars or applying for a job, if the applicant was not retrenched by that manufacturer.
  • New entrants to the furniture manufacturing industry.
